A Nomad’s Guide

Cookie Notice

Last updated 27 August 2026

The short version

A Nomad's Guide uses only the cookies and local storage it needs to work — to keep you signed in and to remember your preferences. There are no advertising cookies, no third-party trackers, and no analytics cookies.

This is a draft under legal review and may change before launch.

What we use, and why

We use a small number of strictly-necessary, first-party cookies and browser storage. These are the kind that a site is generally allowed to set without a consent banner, because the service does not function without them.

Sign-in session
A secure cookie that keeps you logged in as you move between pages, set by our authentication provider (Supabase). Without it you would be signed out on every click.
Preferences
Small values stored in your browser (local/session storage) to remember things like the date you are logging visits under, so the app behaves the way you left it. These stay on your device.
Payments
When you go through checkout, our payment processor (Stripe) may set cookies needed to process the payment and prevent fraud. These are governed by Stripe’s own policies.

What we do NOT use

We do not run advertising, we do not embed third-party marketing pixels, and — as stated in the Privacy Policy — we currently run no analytics or tracking cookies of any kind. If that ever changes, we will update this notice and the Privacy Policy first, and add a consent choice where the law requires one.

Managing cookies

You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings, but blocking the sign-in cookie will stop you from staying logged in. Clearing browser storage will reset your saved preferences.
